Crotchet Bows

This is a stitch I love using for scarfs.  Today I decided to use it for a quick bow, that can be added to any hat, headband, or even simply add a clip on the back.

The stitch itself can be a little tricky to get the hang of, but once you do it moves along fast.

What I used:
Size 8/H 5MM hook
100% Acrylic 4 yarn
Yarn needle

Ch = chain
DC = double crochet
SS = slip stitch

1.  Ch 16, 5th stitch back dc, DC next stitch, DC in skipped stitch (4th original stitch).  Skip stitch 7, DC in stitch 8, DC next stitch, DC in stitch 7. Skip stitch 10, DC stitch 11, DC next stitch, DC in stitch 10.  Skip stitch 13, DC stitch 14, DC next stitch, DC stitch 13.  DC stitch 16.

So, the gist of the stitch is skip a stitch, DC in next 2 stitches, go back to skipped stitch.

2.  CH 3, turn, skip 2 stitches, DC next 2 stitches, DC skipped stitch.  Only picking up one of the 2 stitches skipped after the turn.  *Skip next stitch, DC next 2 stitches, DC skipped stitch.*

Follow * to * ending row in a dc in top of ch3.

3.  Repeat step 2 for 8 more rows (10 rows).

Tie off. Weave ends

For middle of bow

Ch 6, DC in each stitch back (5)
*Ch 3 turn DC each stitch back*
Follow * to * for total of 6 rows.
SS together.
Tie off weave ends in and turn inside out.

Pinch bow together.  Slide middle over end and center.  Adjust your bow.
